Build an interior design brief around the way you live
Interior design starts with the function of the space as well as its appearance. For a Dubai villa or apartment, describe the rooms, daily routines, storage needs and the atmosphere you want to create. Share furniture you want to retain and visual references that explain your preferences.
Clarify whether you need design input only or design with a wider fit-out. Space planning, material selection, drawings and visualisations should be listed as agreed deliverables rather than assumed. For a commercial interior, include the intended use, customer or team needs, and available property plans.
What should an interior design brief include?
Include floor plans if available, room requirements, style references, furniture to retain, an indicative budget and preferred timing. It is useful to separate essential changes from optional ideas.
Are 3D visuals and technical drawings included?
Ask the team to confirm the exact deliverables in the proposal. Their level of detail, revision allowance and relationship to execution should be agreed before commissioning the design.
