Interior decoration in Dubai
Decoration changes how a room looks and feels through colour, fabric, light, furniture and the objects in it. Often no walls move at all, which makes it the fastest way to make a home feel new.

Decoration and design are not the same job
Interior design deals with the structure of a room: the layout, the walls, the ceiling, the services and the built-in joinery. Interior decoration works on the surfaces and the contents: what colour the walls are, what covers them, what hangs at the windows, what furniture stands on the floor, how the room is lit in the evening and which pieces give it character. In practice the two often overlap, and we do both. But many rooms do not need a renovation. A dated living room, a bedroom that never felt finished or a newly rented apartment with white walls and bare windows can change completely through decoration alone, with little or no dust, and sometimes without the approvals that construction work needs.
The layers of a decorated room
We work through a room in layers, from the largest surfaces to the smallest details.
Colour and paint
Walls and ceilings set the base. A painted ceiling or a feature colour can change the proportions of a room as well as its mood.
Wallpaper and wall finishes
Pattern and texture on one wall or all four, from subtle grass-cloth effects to bold prints, as used at Project Bold.
Window treatments
In Dubai, curtains and blinds do practical work against glare and heat as well as softening the room. Layering sheer and blackout fabrics gives both light and privacy.
Lighting fixtures
Chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and lamps. Swapping fittings and adding lamps at different heights is one of the quickest ways to warm a room.
Furniture and rugs
Scale is the common mistake. Furniture sized to the room, with rugs that anchor each seating group, makes a space feel ordered.
Art, mirrors and accessories
The personal layer: artwork, mirrors, cushions, plants and objects that make the room yours rather than a showroom.
Choosing a palette that lasts
Light, flooring and what you already own
Colour behaves differently in Dubai light. Strong daylight can wash out pale colours on a sunny wall and make the same paint look grey on a north-facing one. We test colours against your actual rooms and your existing flooring, which is often the one surface you are not changing.
We also start from what you want to keep. A favourite sofa, a family rug or a collection of art can set the palette for the whole room. Building a scheme around pieces you love produces a more personal result than starting from a blank catalogue.

When decoration is enough, and when it is not
- Decoration is usually enough whenthe layout works, the floors and bathrooms are in reasonable condition, and the room simply feels dated, bare or impersonal.
- It suits tenantsPaint, curtains, lighting, rugs and furniture improve a rented home without permanent changes, subject to the tenancy terms.
- It suits a home being prepared for sale or rentA neutral, well-furnished room photographs better and is easier to picture living in.
- You need design as well whenthe layout does not work, storage is short, the lighting needs new circuits or ceilings, or the kitchen and bathrooms need replacing.
