Swimming pool construction in Dubai

We design and build new swimming pools for villas in Dubai, and renovate existing ones. One team takes your pool from the first site visit and 3D design through the approvals to handover.

Free site visit · Approvals handled by us · Project-specific pricing

SCOPE

What swimming pool construction in Dubai includes

A pool is planned and delivered as one project, so you deal with one team instead of separate contractors for design, construction and finishing. Our designs are produced in 3D so you can see the pool before work starts, and the work is executed in-house. We also work in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

  • Site visit and surveyWe look at the garden, access and what you want to keep.
  • Design and 3D visualisationShape, size, depth and the space around the pool.
  • ApprovalsWe apply for the approvals your pool needs.
  • Excavation and structureThe pool shell, built to the agreed design.
  • WaterproofingBefore any tile goes in.
  • Plumbing, filtration and electricsPumps, filters and the power the pool needs.
  • Lighting and water featuresUnderwater and perimeter lighting, cascades and showers.
  • Tiling, coping and surroundThe finish inside the pool and the deck around it.
  • Filling and handoverThe pool is filled, run and handed over to you.
POOL TYPES

Pool types we build

01

Skimmer pools

In a skimmer pool the water sits just below the edge and is drawn into skimmer boxes for filtering. Our projects include a 9 x 4 skimmer pool with a glass corner (Project Miracle) and a 3.5 x 7 skimmer pool (Project Jewel), both at The Villa.

02

Overflow pools

In an overflow pool water spills over the edge into a channel around the pool, so the surface sits level with the deck.

03

Infinity pools

In an infinity pool one or more edges are set so the water appears to fall away, for gardens with a view or a level change.

04

Plunge pools

Plunge pools are small, deep pools for compact gardens, courtyards and townhouses.

05

Concrete and fibreglass

We build both concrete pools and fibreglass pools. Which suits your garden depends on the shape you want, the site and access, and we advise on it at the site visit.

06

Outdoor jacuzzi and spa

An outdoor jacuzzi or spa can be built into the pool or beside it, as part of the same project.

Not sure which shape, edge or size suits your garden? Our guide to swimming pool design ideas walks through the options before the 3D design.

DETAILS

Lighting, water and the space around the pool

A pool that works day and night

Most of our pools are part of a larger outdoor project. At Project Casa Colonia the poolside has integrated underwater and perimeter LED lighting, rain showers, water features and outdoor automation, with a custom-built BBQ station and pergola zones around it. At Project Majestic in Al Twar the pool has a cascading water feature, with a sunken seating structure and a gazebo beside it.

Because the garden is designed with the pool, the deck, shade, planting and lighting are planned together rather than added later.

THE BUILD

What goes in before the water

Most of a pool is built before you see it

The before photo from Project Majestic shows a pool part-way through construction: the ground dug out, block walls laid around the edge and steel reinforcement fixed in place. At this stage the pipework for filtration and any lighting is set in position; later, the waterproofing is finished before tiling starts.

That is why features are settled at the design stage rather than added later. A glass corner has to be formed in the structure; lights in the pool and along its edge need their fittings and cable routes in place before the shell and deck are finished; and a cascade needs its pipework and pump supply planned with the rest of the plumbing.

Where the pump and filter sit matters too, for noise, access and the length of the pipe runs; at Project Miracle the work included relocating the water pump. We agree these points in the Plan and Visualization stages, before any digging starts.

PROCESS

How a pool project runs

01

Project Study

A free site visit. We look at the garden, access and services, and listen to how you want to use the pool.

02

Plan

Pool type, size and scope are agreed, and we prepare and submit the approvals.

03

Visualization

You see the pool and the space around it in 3D and refine it before anything is built.

04

Execution

Excavation, structure, waterproofing, services and finishes, then filling and handover.

How long a pool takes depends on its size, type and the work around it. We give you a programme for your project after the site visit. A dedicated project manager is your single point of contact from start to handover.

APPROVALS

Approvals

A new villa pool needs approval before construction starts. We apply for the approvals ourselves, so you do not have to deal with the authorities and your community separately. Which approvals apply depends on your community and the scope of work, and we confirm them after the site visit; our fit-out and renovation approvals page gives the wider picture.

Before the application goes in, our guide to villa approvals by community explains who has to agree before a pool is built, and our home modification NOC guide shows how to prepare a pool or garden project for one. Where a community management office has to consent, our page on building and community NOCs covers that step.

COST

What a pool costs

Every pool is priced for its site, so we do not publish a price list. The things that move the price most are:

  • Size and depth
  • Pool type: skimmer, overflow, infinity or plunge
  • Concrete or fibreglass
  • Finishes inside the pool and on the deck
  • Lighting, water features and equipment
  • Site conditions and access
  • Landscaping and structures around the pool
  • Approvals for your community

The site visit is free. After it we confirm the scope and give you a quotation for your pool.

RENOVATION

Renovating an existing pool

We also renovate and upgrade existing pools. Tell us what you would like to change, whether that is the finish, the lighting, a water feature or the space around the pool, and we will review it on the site visit.

POOL & GARDEN

Pool and garden as one project

Pools, gardens, pergolas and outdoor kitchens are all part of our Pools & Landscape work. Planning them together means the deck, paths, shade, lighting and planting fit the pool from the start.

FAQ

Questions and answers

How long does it take to build a swimming pool at a Dubai villa?

It depends on the size and type of the pool and on the work around it. We give you a programme for your project after the free site visit.

Who applies for the approvals?

We do. We apply for the approvals your pool needs; which ones apply depends on your community and the scope of work.

How much does a villa pool cost in Dubai?

We price each pool for its site and do not publish a price list. Size, depth, pool type, finishes, equipment, site access and the work around the pool all affect the price. You receive a quotation after the site visit.

Skimmer or overflow: which suits my garden?

In a skimmer pool the water sits just below the edge; in an overflow pool it runs over the edge into a channel, so the surface is level with the deck. We build both and advise on the right one for your garden at the site visit.

Do you build concrete pools or fibreglass pools?

Both. The choice depends on the shape you want, the site and access.

Do you build infinity pools, plunge pools and outdoor jacuzzis?

Yes, we build all three.

Will I see the design before work starts?

Yes. We produce the design in 3D so you can see the pool and the space around it before execution.

Can the pool and the garden be built as one project?

Yes. Pools, landscaping, pergolas and outdoor kitchens are all part of our Pools & Landscape work, and planning them together is usually the better result.

Can you renovate my existing pool instead of building a new one?

Yes. Tell us what you want to change and we will review it on the site visit.

Who will be my point of contact?

A dedicated project manager, who works with the designers and the site team throughout the project.

Is the site visit free?

Yes.
