Swimming pool construction in Jumeirah
Adding a pool to a garden that has grown for a long time means fitting it between trees, walls and services. We site it carefully, design it in 3D and build it with our own team.

Finding room for a pool in a mature garden
Many Jumeirah villas were built without a pool, or with a small one that no longer suits the family. Adding one to an established garden is a different job from building into an empty plot. The pool has to fit between mature trees whose roots and leaves matter, existing walls and foundations, and services laid long ago. It also has to meet Dubai Municipality's rules for private pools, which cover both approval and safety. We begin with a site survey and only propose a size and position once we know what the garden can take.
Siting a pool on a Jumeirah plot
- Distance from treesRoots can damage a shell and leaves fill skimmers, so the pool is placed with existing trees in mind, and some may need to be moved or removed.
- Walls and foundationsExcavation near the house or an old boundary wall needs care, and sometimes support, so neither is undermined.
- Sun and shadeA pool partly shaded by existing trees stays more comfortable in summer; one in full sun is warmer in winter.
- Plant roomPumps and filters need a ventilated, accessible place, ideally away from bedrooms and neighbours.
- Access for excavationMost Jumeirah plots have their own street gate, which usually helps machinery reach the garden.
Pools that fit established gardens
Skimmer pool
The most adaptable type for an irregular space between trees and walls.
Plunge pool
A compact pool for cooling off where the garden cannot take a full-size one.
Lap pool
A long, narrow pool along a side or rear boundary.
Pool with a water feature
A cascade or spout that adds sound and covers street noise.
Dubai Municipality and private pools
Dubai Municipality's Private Swimming Pools Safety Guidelines apply to pools in private residential areas in the Emirate of Dubai. They state that every pool in a private residential villa must be registered with Dubai Municipality before construction or installation starts, and they set out requirements for the enclosure around the pool, including gates that are self-closing and self-latching. Dubai Municipality also lists an approval service for private swimming pool drawings. We prepare the pool drawings, apply for the approvals and build the enclosure as part of the design.
The pool and the garden around it
One design, one team
A new pool changes the garden around it: the deck, the paths, the lawn and the drainage. We design these together in 3D, so you see the pool among the trees and walls that are staying before excavation.
During execution, one project manager coordinates structural work, plumbing, electrics, tiling and the landscaping that follows. That landscaping is part of everything we build outdoors, from decks and pergolas to planting and lighting.
