Landscape construction in Jumeirah Park

Most Jumeirah Park garden projects include built features: a pergola, an outdoor kitchen, raised planters, sunken seating. This page is about how those are constructed, from setting out to handover.

BUILDING THE

Building the structures a family garden is used for

A garden in Jumeirah Park, where Nakheel describes villas with private gardens set among parks, is usually built for daily family use. That means more built elements than planting alone: shade structures, cooking areas, seating walls, paths wide enough to use every day and surfaces that take hard wear. Each of these needs proper foundations, services and drainage underneath. Landscape construction is the work of getting those foundations right and building the features in an order that does not damage what has already been finished. If you are still deciding on the layout, our landscape design and build page for Jumeirah Park covers that stage.

WHAT GOES

What goes in before anything is visible

  • Setting outThe approved 3D design is marked on the ground, so you can stand where the pergola, kitchen and paths will be before work goes further.
  • Footings for structuresPergolas, gazebos and outdoor kitchens sit on their own foundations, not on paving, so they stay level.
  • Water and power for the outdoor kitchenSupply and drainage for a sink, and power for appliances and lighting, run in ducts under the garden.
  • BlockworkRaised planters, seating walls and the shell of a sunken seating area or BBQ counter are built in blockwork and rendered or clad.
  • Falls and drainagePaving is laid with falls so water runs off it, and drainage points are placed where washing down the patio will send water.
SURFACES BUILT

Surfaces built for daily use

01

Paving and interlock

Laid on a compacted sub-base so it does not sink where cars, bikes or garden furniture are moved.

02

Artificial grass

Installed on a prepared, drained base so play areas dry quickly and stay even.

03

Natural lawn

Soil preparation and irrigation zones laid first, so the lawn can be watered separately from the beds.

04

Decking

Built on a frame with ventilation underneath, for seating and dining areas.

SEQUENCING THE

Sequencing the site

Heavy work first, finishes last

We keep demolition, excavation and blockwork together at the start, while the garden is still a work site. Structures follow, then paving, then planting and grass, and finally light fittings, furniture and a clean. Working this way, finished surfaces are not crossed by wheelbarrows or cut open for a forgotten cable.

Our team works 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, and follows the community's rules for contractors. Your project manager agrees access and protection with you before day one.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Does a pergola or outdoor kitchen in Jumeirah Park need a Nakheel NOC?

According to Nakheel's FAQ, owners must obtain an NOC from its Urban Planning team before making alterations. We confirm what your garden needs and apply for it ourselves.

Can an outdoor kitchen in Jumeirah Park have running water?

Yes. Supply and drainage are laid under the garden during construction, before the paving goes down.

Will the work disturb our neighbours?

Some noise is unavoidable during demolition and blockwork. We keep heavy work together at the start and follow the community's rules for contractors.

Can you build on top of the existing paving in our Jumeirah Park garden?

We usually lift it. New structures need their own footings, and old paving often hides a weak base.

Who do we talk to during construction?

A dedicated project manager is your single point of contact from the first day on site to handover.

How long does construction take?

It depends on the work. You receive a programme after the site visit.
