Swimming pool construction in Jumeirah Park
Many Jumeirah Park owners add a pool to a garden that was not planned for one. We size it to the plot and the family, design it with the rest of the garden in 3D, and build it with our own team.

Fitting a pool into an existing family garden
Jumeirah Park is a villa community that Nakheel describes as built around parks, private gardens and family amenities. A typical pool project here starts with a garden that is already in use: a lawn, a patio, perhaps some planting along the boundary. Adding a pool means deciding how much of that garden it takes, where it sits relative to the house and the sun, and what happens to the space around it. Done well, the pool becomes the centre of the garden rather than a rectangle dropped into the lawn. Our projects on this page are from other Dubai communities.
Choosing the right pool for the plot
Skimmer pool
The common choice for a family garden: a rectangle or simple shape with the water just below the coping. Straightforward to build and maintain.
Plunge pool
A smaller, deeper pool for cooling off, leaving more of the garden as lawn or patio.
Lap pool
A long, narrow pool along one side of the garden, for swimming lengths, where the plot shape allows.
Wet deck or tanning ledge
A shallow shelf at one end where young children can sit in the water and adults can lie in it.
Concrete or fibreglass
We build both. Concrete allows any shape; a fibreglass shell is made off site and needs a clear route into the garden.
Decisions specific to a family pool
- Sight lines from the housePlacing the pool where it can be seen from the kitchen and living room.
- Depth and stepsA shallow area, wide entry steps or a wet deck make the pool easier for younger swimmers.
- Surfaces around the waterNon-slip paving or decking, and enough space to walk around the pool without stepping onto planting.
- ShadeA pergola or tree on the west side keeps part of the deck usable in the afternoon.
- EquipmentPumps and filters placed out of sight and away from the bedrooms.
Getting a pool into a finished garden
Excavation, access and protection
In most villas the only way into the back garden is a side passage, so the size of excavation equipment, the removal of soil and the delivery of materials are planned on the site visit. If a fibreglass shell is chosen, the route for bringing it in is checked before it is ordered.
Everything that stays, from the house walls to existing paving and trees, is protected during the works. Once the pool structure is in, the deck, planting and lighting around it are rebuilt to the approved 3D design.
