Landscape construction in Arabian Ranches
We build Arabian Ranches gardens on site: break-out, levels, blockwork, irrigation, cabling, paving and planting, carried out under the community's NOC and contractor permit rules.

Building a garden under community rules
In Arabian Ranches, landscape construction starts with paperwork rather than a shovel. Emaar Community Management (ECM) states that any change to the villa or back garden needs a Home Modifications NOC, and that service providers may enter the community only with a valid entry permit, which contractors apply for through ECM's permit system. Once both are in place, the build itself is the same discipline as anywhere else: the order of the layers decides whether the garden lasts. This page covers the build itself; how the layout is designed is on our design-and-build page. The photographs come from our work in other Dubai communities.
The construction sequence
Project Study
A free site visit to survey levels, locate existing irrigation, power and water lines, and measure the access route from the street to the back garden.
Plan
We set the order of work, list what is kept and what is removed, and apply for the Emaar NOC and the contractor entry permit.
Visualization
The finished garden in 3D, so every level, wall and light on site has an approved reference.
Execution
Break-out, then levels and drainage, then irrigation lines and cable ducts, then blockwork, then paving and decking, and finally lawn and planting.
Duration depends on the work and on the approval. A programme follows the site visit.
What our site team builds
Hardscape
Paving and interlock, paths and stepping stones, steps, edging and decking on properly compacted bases.
Civil and blockwork
Raised planters, seating walls, BBQ and kitchen bases and pergola footings.
Levels and drainage
Falls set away from the house and threshold, so irrigation and washing water do not pool against walls.
Irrigation
Drip and spray zones laid before planting, with sleeves under paved areas for later access.
Lighting cabling
Cable ducts to every planned light, routed inside the plot.
Softscape
Lawn or artificial grass, trees, palms and shrubs, planted last when heavy work is over.
Arabian Ranches points we build around
Several of ECM's published rules for Arabian Ranches affect construction directly.
- No lights on the boundary wallECM states that lights may not be installed on top of, or on the community-facing side of, villa boundary walls. Cable routes are planned to fittings inside the garden.
- Tree pits away from the wallECM requires trees to be planted at least 1.5 metres from villa boundary walls and does not permit Damas trees. We set out tree pits before paving goes down.
- Garden waste is the homeowner's sideECM says landscaping waste from private gardens is the responsibility of the owner's gardener, not the community collection. We take our construction waste away.
- Neighbours and noiseECM recommends notifying neighbours and keeping noisy work to permitted hours. Our team works 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday.
Why the order of work matters
Nothing is buried twice
A garden that is built out of order has to be dug up again. If the lighting ducts are forgotten, new paving is cut to run a cable. If drainage is not set before the lawn, water collects against the boundary wall. We build from the ground up and check each layer before the next one covers it.
In an established Arabian Ranches garden there is often an older layer to deal with first: interlock that has settled, irrigation that has been patched, or roots under paths. That is surveyed at the site visit and priced into the plan, rather than found halfway through. The same ground-up approach runs through our pool and garden construction work across Dubai.
