Artificial grass in Sharjah
We lay artificial grass in Sharjah gardens, courtyards and terraces, on a levelled, drained base with firm edges, and plan it with the paths, planting and lighting around it.

When artificial grass suits a Sharjah home
Artificial grass is a practical choice for many Sharjah homes. It suits the paved or sandy courtyards common around older villas, where a natural lawn would struggle and the space is mostly used for children to play or for sitting out in the evening. It also suits small townhouse gardens, balconies and roof terraces where there is no soil to plant into. It stays green without watering, which matters through a long summer. It has limits too: in direct afternoon sun it gets hot underfoot, it does not cool the air as planting does, and it looks flat if it covers everything. It works well where it is used selectively, with real planting, shade and paving around it. We work in Sharjah and install artificial grass either on its own or as part of a wider garden. Indoors, the same team offers home interior design in Sharjah, from the majlis to kitchens and bedroom suites.
Where it is typically laid
Courtyards and side yards
Turning a dusty or tiled yard into a soft, usable surface.
Play areas
A clean surface for children that does not turn to mud or dust. Where swings or climbing frames are planned, the safety surface underneath is considered separately.
Terraces and roofs
A green finish on a hard deck, provided the surface below drains properly.
Around seating and pergolas
Under a pergola or beside a seating area, where shade keeps the surface comfortable for longer.
What we check at the site visit in Sharjah
Most of the quality of an artificial lawn is in what is underneath it. At the free site visit we look at:
- The existing surfaceSand, soil, old tiles or concrete, and whether anything has to be removed first.
- Levels and fallsWhere water will run when the garden is washed down or after rain, so it does not pool under the grass.
- Sun and shadeWhich areas get the full afternoon sun, and whether shade from a pergola or trees would make the area more usable.
- EdgesHow the grass will meet walls, paving, planting beds and any pool deck, so it stays fixed and neat.
- Services underneathIrrigation for nearby beds and cables for garden lighting, which are laid before the grass, not after.
- AccessHow materials reach the garden, especially in older villas with a single gate or a narrow side passage.
Grass as part of the garden
Stepping stones, lights and planting placed first
A lawn looks finished when its edges have something to meet. On Project Alpha in Damac Hills 2, artificial grass was combined with stepping stones, landscaping, wall cladding and ambient outdoor lighting. On Project Bold, artificial grass sits with stepping stones lit by outdoor lights and plant spike lights.
In both, the stones and lights were set out first and the grass was cut to them. If you want more than a lawn, the same team can design the rest of the garden. See our landscaping in Sharjah page.

Heat, sand and water in a Sharjah garden
Artificial grass does not need watering, but the climate still shapes how and where it is laid.
Afternoon heat
The pile holds heat in direct sun. We keep the main lawn where the house, a wall or a pergola shades it in the afternoon, and use paving or planting for the sunniest strip.
Windblown sand
Sand from open ground works its way into the pile and flattens it. Planting beds between the open side and the lawn catch much of it, and the grass is brushed back up when the yard is washed down.
Washing down and drainage
Many households hose the yard. The base is laid to a fall and the backing lets water through, so washing water and the occasional storm drain away instead of sitting under the grass.
Shade and damp
A corner that never sees sun and stays wet after washing can discolour. The base there is laid to drain fast and planting is kept back from the edge so air reaches it.
Dust from unpaved ground
Where the plot borders sand or a lane, a firm edge and a paved strip stop dust being walked straight onto the lawn.
Grass, planting and the trees already there
The grass is one layer of the garden. These are the things we settle with it:
- Irrigation for everything elseThe grass needs none, but the beds, hedge and trees beside it do. Drip lines are laid before the grass so nothing is lifted later.
- Lighting cablesSpike lights in the beds and wall lights on the boundary need ducts under the grass, run at the base stage. See outdoor lighting.
- Keeping existing treesA mature tree gives the shade that makes the grass usable in summer, so its roots and watering are planned around. If a palm or tree does have to go, we check what the municipality requires before anything is cut.
- Which grassPile height, density and colour change how the lawn looks and feels. Our guide to artificial grass types and quality explains what to compare.
- Play surfacesUnder swings or a climbing frame a shock-absorbing layer such as rubber play flooring is laid instead of, or beneath, the grass.

Project Study
A free visit to your home in Sharjah to measure the area and check the base, levels, drainage and sun.
Plan
We agree where grass, paths and planting go and what is laid underneath. If the work is part of a garden that needs approval, we apply for it.
Visualization
Where the grass is part of a wider garden, you see the layout in 3D before work starts.
Execution
Our team removes the old surface, prepares and levels the base, lays services and edges, then lays and fixes the grass. You get a programme once we have seen the site.
What changes the cost
Price follows the square metres, the grass you choose and, above all, the groundwork: breaking out old tiles or concrete, bringing in and compacting a new base, correcting falls so water drains, and the amount of cutting around stones, beds and walls. Lighting or irrigation for the beds alongside adds to the job. A quotation follows the free site visit.
