WHAT A

What a painting job really involves

Most of what makes paintwork look good is done before the colour goes on. Walls in Dubai homes and offices pick up hairline cracks, nail holes, scuffs, patches of old repair and, in bathrooms and kitchens, damp. If those are painted over, they show through within months. A proper job means protecting floors and furniture, filling and sanding, priming bare or repaired areas, and only then applying the finish coats. It also means choosing the right kind of paint for each surface: a hallway that gets knocked by trolleys and children needs a tougher, washable finish than a guest bedroom ceiling. We treat painting as a piece of work to plan, whether it is one room, a full villa before you move in, or an office that has to stay open while the walls are done.

WHAT WE

What we paint

Painting can be a project on its own or part of a wider renovation. These are the parts of a property we cover.

01

Interior walls

Living rooms, bedrooms, corridors and stairwells, with a finish chosen for how much wear each area gets.

02

Ceilings

Flat slabs and gypsum ceilings, including coves and bulkheads, where an even finish matters because light falls across the surface.

03

Doors, frames and woodwork

Skirting, door frames and timber that needs a harder finish than the walls around it.

04

Exterior walls and boundary walls

Facades, parapets and garden walls, prepared for strong sun, heat, dust and humidity.

05

Feature and design walls

Accent colours, two-tone schemes and design painting that works together with lighting, cladding or wallpaper.

06

Offices and commercial spaces

Workspaces, meeting rooms and reception areas, scheduled around the way the business runs.

CHOOSING THE

Choosing the finish, in general terms

Paint comes in different types and sheen levels, and each has a place. We agree the right combination for each room during the Plan stage; these are the general trade-offs.

  • MattLow sheen that hides small surface imperfections well. Usually the choice for ceilings and calm living spaces, but less forgiving to scrubbing.
  • Eggshell and satinA soft sheen that is easier to wipe clean, which suits corridors, children's rooms and kitchens.
  • Semi-gloss and glossHard-wearing and easy to clean, used mainly on doors, frames and skirting. Gloss shows every dent in the surface beneath it.
  • Moisture-resistant finishesFor bathrooms, kitchens and laundry areas, where steam and splashes would break down an ordinary wall paint.
  • Exterior coatingsFormulated for UV, heat and weather, and very different from interior emulsion.
  • Low-odour optionsUseful in homes that stay occupied during the work and in offices that cannot close.
COLOUR, LIGHT

Colour, light and the rest of the room

Why we check the scheme in 3D first

The same colour looks different on a north-facing bedroom wall, in a sunlit living room and under warm evening lighting. A small sample card rarely tells you how a whole wall will feel. When painting is part of a design or renovation project, we show the colour scheme in 3D with the room's furniture, flooring and lighting, so you can compare options and settle on one before any paint is bought.

Paint also has to work with everything around it: wallpaper on one wall, wood cladding on another, a gypsum ceiling with cove lighting above. Project Design, an office in Silicon Oasis, combined design painting with an open ceiling, frosted glass partitions and new carpeting, and the colours were planned as part of that whole.

HOW A

How a painting job runs

01

Project Study

A free site visit to see the surfaces, note cracks, damp and previous repairs, and understand how the space is used and when it can be worked on.

02

Plan

We agree the rooms and surfaces, the preparation each one needs, the type and sheen of paint, and the order of work so that the property stays usable.

03

Visualization

Where colour is part of the brief, you see the scheme in 3D in your own rooms and adjust it before any paint is ordered.

04

Execution

Our in-house team protects, prepares and paints, with a dedicated project manager as your single point of contact. A programme is given after the site visit, as timing depends on the work.

WHAT CHANGES

What changes the cost of painting

We price each job after the site visit. These are the things that move the number.

  • Area and ceiling heightDouble-height spaces and stairwells need access equipment.
  • Condition of the surfacesCracks, damp, flaking paint or old wallpaper add preparation time.
  • Number of coloursFeature walls and two-tone schemes need more cutting-in than one colour throughout.
  • Type of paint and finish
  • Woodwork, doors and metalThese take more care than walls.
  • Furniture and occupancyWorking around a furnished, lived-in home or an open office.
  • Exterior accessHeight, scaffolding and how easily the facade can be reached.
FAQ

Questions and answers

Do you paint single rooms or only whole properties?

Both. Painting can be a job on its own, from one room upwards, or part of a wider renovation. It starts with a free site visit either way.

Can you paint while we are living in the house?

Yes. We plan the work room by room, protect furniture and floors, and can use low-odour paints so the rest of the home stays usable.

Do you paint offices outside working hours?

Our working hours are 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday. Within those hours we plan the sequence so the office can keep running, for example by doing one zone at a time.

Can you fix cracks and damp patches before painting?

Yes. Preparation is part of the job. Where damp has a cause such as a leak or failed waterproofing, the cause needs to be dealt with first, or the stain will return.

Can paint go over existing wallpaper?

It is generally better to remove wallpaper and prepare the wall underneath, because paint can make old paper bubble or lift at the seams. We check the wall at the site visit.

How long does it take to paint a villa or apartment?

It depends on the work: the area, the surfaces and how much preparation is needed. We give you a programme after the site visit.

Can I see the colours before you start?

Yes. When colour is part of the brief, we show the scheme in 3D in your rooms so you can compare options first.

Do you paint exteriors as well?

Yes. We paint facades, parapets and boundary walls, with preparation and coatings suited to sun, heat and dust.
