Emaar Community Management describes Emirates Hills as a neighbourhood of custom-built homes, most overlooking one of its lakes, the fairways or the green stretches of the golf course. In gardens like these, the pool is often the largest single element outside the house, and it sets the composition for everything else. Its axis can line up with the main living room, its far edge can sit against the view, and its deck becomes the main outdoor room. We construct pools in concrete or fibreglass, with skimmer, overflow or infinity edges, plus plunge pools and spas, and we renovate existing pools, from new finishes to a reshaped pool.
Pool types that suit large, view-facing gardens
Infinity edge
One edge appears to disappear, with water spilling into a hidden catch basin. It works when the pool sits above or in front of an open view, such as water or a fairway.
Overflow pool
Water at deck level on all sides, spilling into a perimeter channel: a calm, flat surface that reflects the house and sky.
Lap pool
A long, narrow pool for swimming lengths, often set along a boundary so the rest of the garden stays open.
Spa and plunge pool
An outdoor jacuzzi or plunge pool beside the main pool, sharing its plant room.
Floating steps and ledges
Stepping elements, wet decks and seating ledges that make the pool part of the terrace rather than a hole in it.
Re-doing a pool in an established home
What ECM says about approval
Emirates Hills is an established community, and many of its pools have been in use for years. Renovation can mean new interior finishes and coping, new lighting and equipment, or a different pool shape entirely.
In its home modification FAQs for Emirates Living, ECM states that re-doing a swimming pool needs permission, applied for as an NOC through the community portal, and that any alteration to the villa has to be approved by Emaar. We prepare the drawings for a new pool or a renovation and apply for the NOC ourselves.

What changes the cost
Size and depth, concrete or fibreglass, the edge type (an infinity or overflow edge needs a catch basin or channel and a balance tank), filtration, heating or chilling, interior and deck finishes, lighting and automation, and any water features or spa. On an existing pool, the condition of the shell and pipework is a major factor. The quotation is prepared once the design is agreed. If the deck, planting or lighting around the pool is changing too, that work sits within our pools and outdoor living service.
