Swimming pools in Al Barari gardens

A pool in a garden full of trees has to deal with shade, leaves and roots as well as sun. We plan new pools and pool renovations for Al Barari villas around those conditions, and handle the master developer's approval ourselves.

POOLS IN

Pools in a green setting

Al Barari's character comes from its planting: themed gardens, water and trees around the homes. That makes a pool here more pleasant to sit beside and slightly more demanding to build and run. Shade from mature trees keeps parts of the water cooler, but it also brings leaves, flowers and seed pods into the pool. Roots near the excavation need thought. And a pool that looks right in an open, paved yard can look heavy in a planted garden. Our team builds both concrete and fibreglass pools and renovates old ones; for a planted garden we choose between skimmer, overflow, plunge pool and spa with the trees in mind.

CHOICES THAT

Choices that change in a planted garden

01

Skimmer or overflow

Skimmers collect floating debris at set points; an overflow edge lets water spill over the whole perimeter into a channel. Where leaf fall is heavy, the choice of system and where the skimmers sit is a design decision, not an afterthought.

02

Position against the trees

We place the pool where it gets the light you want and keep the excavation clear of roots of trees you intend to keep.

03

Plunge pool or jacuzzi

Where the garden is mostly planting, a smaller plunge pool or spa keeps the green dominant while still giving you water.

04

Natural-looking edges

Coping, decking and planting can come close to the water, so the pool reads as part of the garden rather than a tiled box in it.

05

Lighting

Underwater and surrounding lights planned with the garden lighting, so the pool glows without lighting up the trees beyond your boundary.

APPROVAL COMES

Approval comes before excavation

What Al Barari's rules say

According to Al Barari's published rules on construction and modifications, any improvement, modification or alteration to a unit needs prior approval of the designs and plans from the master developer, in the form of a no-objection certificate. The rules also say that works adding built-up or gross floor area need the master developer's prior approval, and that as-built plans may be requested after completion.

For a pool, that means the drawings come first. We design the pool and its surroundings in 3D, prepare the submission and apply for the approval ourselves. The master developer sets its own documents, fees and timelines; we do not quote them here.

WHAT CHANGES

What changes the cost

The main drivers are the pool type and size, concrete or fibreglass construction, the filtration system and any heating or cooling, finishes inside the pool and on the deck, lighting, the amount of excavation and any work around trees or existing services, and access for machinery to the back of the plot. Renovations depend on what is found once the old finishes and equipment are opened up. A quotation follows the site visit.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Do I need the master developer's approval for a pool in Al Barari?

Al Barari's published rules require a no-objection certificate from the master developer for improvements or alterations to a unit, based on submitted designs and plans. We prepare the drawings and apply for it ourselves.

Our garden has a lot of trees. Is that a problem for a pool?

Not usually, but it shapes the design. We consider leaf fall when choosing between skimmer and overflow systems, and keep the excavation away from roots of trees you want to keep.

Can you renovate the pool we already have?

Yes. Renovation is part of our pool work; what it involves depends on the shell, the equipment and the surrounding deck.

Have you built pools in Al Barari?

Not yet. The pools on this page were built in other Dubai communities, and we show them as examples of our pool work.

Concrete or fibreglass?

We build both. Concrete allows any shape and edge detail; fibreglass is a factory-made shell that suits simpler shapes. We advise after seeing the plot and access.

How long does a pool take?

The time depends on the pool, the garden around it and the approval. We set out a programme once we have seen the site.
