Landscape design and build in The Villa

Gardens in The Villa sit against arches, warm render and courtyards. We design the outdoor space to belong to that architecture, show it to you in 3D, and build it with our own team.

DESIGNING A

Designing a garden for a Spanish-style villa

Dubai Properties describes The Villa as a community of Spanish-style villas with sun-drenched courtyards, carefully selected colour schemes and themed landscaping. That gives a garden designer a strong starting point and a few constraints. Arched openings, rendered boundary walls and terracotta tones look at home with planted courtyards, palms and textured paving, and can look out of place next to a garden designed for a glass-box villa. Our design work in The Villa starts with the house itself: which rooms open onto the garden, where the arches frame a view, and how the outdoor space can feel like a continuation of the interior rather than a separate yard. The same team that draws the garden then builds it, so the design is made knowing exactly how it will be executed.

DESIGN DECISIONS

Design decisions that matter here

01

Courtyard or open garden

Whether the garden is treated as a sheltered, enclosed room or as an open lawn decides where walls, planting and shade go.

02

A palette that suits the render

Paving, stone and timber chosen to sit with the villa's warm colours instead of fighting them.

03

Framing the arches

Paths, steps and planting aligned with doors and arched openings, so the view from inside lines up with something worth seeing.

04

Shade against the afternoon sun

Pergolas, gazebos and palms placed where the garden is actually used late in the day.

05

Space for the family

Larger villas often need room for children to play, guests to eat and adults to sit apart. Zoning gives each its place.

06

Room for a pool later

If a pool is not in the first phase, the design can keep the space, levels and service routes ready for it.

WHAT 3D

What 3D changes in a design-and-build garden

Agreeing the garden before the site team arrives

Visualization is the third of our four work stages. You see the garden in 3D from the terrace, from the living room and from the gate, with the villa's own walls and arches in the view. That is where you decide whether a seating area feels enclosed enough, whether a lawn is too small to be useful, or whether a pergola blocks light from a room.

Once you approve the 3D, it becomes the brief for our site team and for the project manager who is your single point of contact. Because design and build are one project, nothing is lost between a designer's drawing and a contractor's interpretation of it.

FROM FIRST

From first visit to finished garden

01

Project Study

A free site visit to walk the garden with you, note sun and shade, levels, the existing palms and planting, and how materials can reach the back of the villa.

02

Plan

Zones, features and materials are agreed, along with the approvals the work needs. We apply for those ourselves.

03

Visualization

The whole garden in 3D, revised until the layout and palette are right for the villa.

04

Execution

Our in-house team builds the approved design, with joinery such as outdoor cabinets made in our workshop.

Duration depends on the work. You receive a programme after the site visit.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Do you design gardens in The Villa?

Yes. Projects Aldea, Miracle and Jewel are villas in The Villa where we carried out outdoor works, and the design-and-build approach on this page is how we run those projects.

Should a garden in The Villa follow the Spanish style of the house?

It does not have to copy it, but it should sit comfortably with it. We usually draw the palette from the villa's render, roof and arches, then decide with you how traditional or contemporary the garden should feel.

Who approves garden changes in The Villa?

The Villa was developed by Dubai Properties, according to its website. Which approval your work needs depends on the scope; we confirm it for your villa and apply for it ourselves.

Can you keep the existing palms and trees?

Often, yes. We record them on the site visit and design around those worth keeping.

Will I see the design before work starts?

Yes. The garden is produced in 3D, and work begins only after you approve it.

Is the site visit free?

Yes, the first visit to your villa is free.
