Landscape construction in The Villa

Building a garden in The Villa is mostly work nobody sees once it is finished: levels, walls, pipes and cables. We build those layers in order, then the paving and planting on top.

WHAT LANDSCAPE

What landscape construction involves on a villa in The Villa

Once a garden design is agreed, the work becomes a construction project with its own sequence. On villas in The Villa it usually means breaking out old paving or a tired lawn, setting new levels so water runs away from the house, building blockwork for planters, seating and counters, laying irrigation and cable ducts, and only then paving, turfing and planting. Many of these homes have been lived in for some time, so construction often starts with removing what an earlier owner built and finding out where existing services run. This page is about that execution side. If you are still deciding what the garden should look like, our design-and-build page for The Villa covers the design stage.

THE ORDER

The order we build in

  • Strip-out and excavationOld paving, kerbs, gravel and dead lawn removed, and ground dug to the depth the new levels need.
  • Levels and drainageFalls set away from the villa and the boundary walls, so irrigation water and rain do not collect against render.
  • Civil and blockworkPlanter walls, raised beds, bases for BBQ and bar counters, steps and any boundary wall changes.
  • Irrigation and ductsIrrigation lines laid in zones, plus ducts for garden lighting and power, all before anything is closed over.
  • HardscapePaving, interlock, stepping stones and edging set to the agreed levels.
  • Softscape and lightingNatural lawn or artificial grass, planting and palms, then light fittings connected and tested.

WORKING INSIDE

Working inside an established community

Access, neighbours and working hours

Most villas in The Villa are reached through residential streets, and back gardens are often accessed along a side passage. Before work starts we plan how excavated soil leaves the site and how blocks, paving and turf come in, so the street and the neighbours' frontages are kept clear.

Our teams work 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, and follow the working rules the community sets for contractors. Your project manager coordinates deliveries and is the one person you call about anything on site.

CONSTRUCTION WORK

Construction work from our projects in The Villa

01

Boundary wall

Project Miracle included a redesigned boundary wall as part of its outdoor works.

02

Water pump relocation

On Miracle we relocated the water pump so it no longer sat where the new garden needed the space.

03

Car shade and covered parking

Miracle has a car shade and Jewel covered parking, both built alongside the garden works.

04

BBQ area

Project Aldea's outdoor living space includes a BBQ area built into the new garden.

APPROVALS BEFORE

Approvals before the first excavation

According to Dubai Properties' own website, The Villa was developed by Dubai Properties. Dubai Holding states that its community management company oversees communities developed by Nakheel, Meraas and Dubai Properties. The approval a garden needs depends on what is being built: new walls, structures and anything visible from the street are treated differently from replanting a lawn. We confirm what applies to your villa and apply for it ourselves before construction starts.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Can you build a garden someone else designed?

Yes, if the drawings are buildable. We review them at the site visit and tell you if anything needs changing before construction.

How do materials reach the back garden in The Villa?

Usually along a side passage. We check the width on the site visit and plan deliveries and soil removal around it.

Do you lay the irrigation and lighting cables too?

Yes. Irrigation lines and lighting ducts go in before paving and planting, so nothing has to be dug up later.

Can the old boundary wall be changed?

Boundary wall work was part of Project Miracle in The Villa. Whether your wall can change depends on the community's rules; we check and apply for the approval.

What hours does your team work?

8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, within the community's own contractor rules.

How long does garden construction take in The Villa?

It depends on the work and on access to the back garden. You receive a programme after the site visit.
