A garden designed for the villa it belongs to
Dubai Silicon Oasis is better known for its technology park and towers, but it also has two villa communities. The DSO website lists Semmer Villas and Cedre Villas, and describes Cedre as a gated community whose homes range from larger villas to twin villas and townhouses, with Arabic, Modern or Traditional exterior styles. That variety is the starting point for a design here. A garden that suits a Modern-style villa, with clean lines and a restrained palette, can look out of place in front of an Arabic-style facade with arches and decorative detail. We read the architecture first and then draw a garden that belongs to it, rather than applying the same scheme to every plot.
What we study before we draw
The first visit to a DSO villa is about the plot, not the products. We record:
- The villa type and its facadeTownhouse and twin gardens are usually narrower than those of a detached villa, and the exterior style sets the tone for materials.
- What is already thereEstablished planting, an existing pool on villa types that have one, paving worth keeping and the position of AC units and service points.
- Sun and shade through the dayWhich side of the garden takes the afternoon sun, and where a seating area will actually be comfortable.
- Privacy from neighbours and the streetWhere planting or a screen does more than a higher wall would.
- How you want to use the gardenChildren playing, evening dinners, a quiet corner, a barbecue, space for a pool later.
What the design settles
Zones and routes
Where the seating, dining, play and planting areas go, and the paths that link them to the house.
Materials palette
Paving, wall finishes, decking and edging chosen to match the villa's exterior style and to stay cooler underfoot.
Planting plan
Trees, palms, shrubs and lawn or artificial grass placed for shade, screening and the water each needs.
Shade structures
Pergolas or a gazebo positioned against the afternoon sun, with lighting and power planned in.
Lighting scheme
Path, wall and tree lighting drawn into the design so cables are laid before any finish goes down.
Seeing it in 3D first
Design and build by one team
Before any work starts you see the garden in 3D: the layout, the materials, the shade structures and the lighting at night. Changes are made on screen, where they cost nothing to try. Because the same team then builds it, the drawings are made with construction in mind, and the garden you approve is the one that is built.
With our office inside Dubai Silicon Oasis, it is simple to meet at the villa or at SIT Tower to go through the design. We are open from 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday.

How a design-and-build garden runs
Project Study
A free site visit at your DSO villa to measure the garden, note the villa type and facade, and hear how you want to use the space.
Plan
Zones, materials and planting are agreed, along with the approvals the work needs, which we apply for ourselves.
Visualization
The full garden in 3D, by day and at night, revised until you are happy with it.
Execution
Our own team builds it, with one project manager as your contact from the first day on site to handover.
