Two kinds of pool project
Owners in Jumeirah Islands usually come to us with one of two jobs. The first is a pool that was built years ago and now needs more than a repair: dated tiles, a tired coping, a deck that has cracked, lighting that no longer works, or a shape that does not suit how the family uses the garden. The second is a new swimming pool, or a second water element such as a plunge pool or jacuzzi beside the main one. In both cases the lake is the backdrop, so the position of the pool edge, the height of the water line and what you see past it are design decisions, not afterthoughts.
Pool types that suit a lakeside garden
Overflow pool
Water spills over the edge into a hidden channel, so the surface sits level with the deck. On a garden that looks out over water, the flat line of the pool can echo the lake behind it.
Infinity edge
One side drops away into a catch basin, so from the house the pool seems to continue into the view. It needs a level difference and careful setting out.
Skimmer pool
The water sits just below the coping and is drawn off through skimmers. A practical choice where the view is not the main point.
Plunge pool or jacuzzi
A smaller body of water for cooling off or a warm soak, often added beside a veranda or under shade.
What we check before drawing the pool
- Line of sight to the waterFrom the living room, the veranda and the roof terrace, so the pool frames the lake rather than blocking it.
- Existing pool structureOn a renovation, whether the shell, pipework and equipment can stay or need replacing.
- Ground and levelsExcavation close to the water and to the house needs the ground and the level of the existing garden checked first.
- Equipment spaceWhere pumps and filters can sit out of sight and out of earshot of the seating area.
- Access for excavationHow machinery and materials reach the back garden through the community and around the villa. The same check applies across our pool and landscaping work.

How a pool project runs
Project Study
A free site visit to measure the garden, look at any existing pool and check views, levels and access.
Plan
Pool type, size, edge, deck and equipment position. We apply for the Nakheel NOC and any other approval the pool needs.
Visualization
The pool and its surroundings in 3D, by day and lit at night, seen from the house and the roof terrace.
Execution
Excavation or strip-out, structure, plumbing, finishes, deck and lighting, built by our in-house team with one project manager.
Duration depends on the work. A programme is given after the site visit.
