Landscape construction in Meydan
Building a garden behind a Meydan townhouse or semi-detached villa is mostly a logistics job: getting materials in, keeping neighbours' walls dry and laying the services before anything visible goes down.

What changes when the garden shares a wall
According to Meydan's real estate website, its residential neighbourhoods include townhouse communities and semi-detached villas as well as larger homes. In attached houses the garden is bounded by party walls and the house itself, and there may be no vehicle access to the back at all. Construction has to respect all three: a neighbour's wall that must not be undermined or soaked, a house whose floor level and doors set the finished height of the garden, and a route for every bag of sand and every slab that may run through a side gate or, on mid-terrace homes, through the house. This page is about that build. If you are still deciding what the garden should look like, our Meydan design-and-build page starts there.
The order we build in
Each layer is finished and checked before the next covers it.
- Protection and accessFloors, doors and the route through the property are protected, and a storage spot for materials is agreed so the street and shared areas stay clear.
- Strip-out and setting outOld paving, turf or planting are removed and the new layout is marked on the ground from the approved 3D design.
- Levels and fallsFinished levels are set from the house threshold, with falls that carry water away from the house and from the party walls towards drainage points.
- Civil and blockworkFootings for planters, seating walls, BBQ counters and pergola bases, kept clear of neighbouring foundations.
- Services in the groundIrrigation lines and sleeves, cable ducts for lighting and power, and any water feed for an outdoor shower or feature.
- Hard surfacesPaving, interlock, stepping stones and decking laid on a prepared base.
- Soft surfaces and plantingNatural lawn or artificial grass, beds, climbers and trees, connected to their irrigation zones.
- Lighting and testingFittings installed on the ducts laid earlier, then irrigation and lighting tested before handover.

Working around neighbours
Noise, dust and shared walls
In attached housing the people next door hear and see the build. Our team works from 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, and your community may set its own rules for noisy work and deliveries; we follow whichever is stricter. Cutting is kept to one spot, away from the neighbour's windows where the layout allows.
Party walls get particular care. Planters built against them are lined, irrigation is kept away from their base, and the levels are set so that water does not sit at the foot of a wall you share. These details are invisible at handover but decide how the garden behaves after the first months of watering.

How the project runs
Project Study
A free site visit to check access, existing levels, drainage points, the condition of the boundary walls and where water and power can be taken from.
Plan
Scope, sequence and site rules agreed with you, and the approvals your community requires applied for by us.
Visualization
The approved 3D design becomes the setting-out reference for the site team.
Execution
Our own team builds layer by layer, with one project manager coordinating deliveries, trades and handover.
Duration depends on the work. You receive a programme after the site visit.
What changes the cost of the build
The main drivers are access, because carrying material through a side gate or a house takes longer than unloading at the plot; how much has to be removed first; the amount of blockwork for planters, seating and counters; the paving and decking chosen; the number of irrigation zones and lighting points; and whether a pool, shade structure or outdoor kitchen is part of the scope. A quotation follows the site visit.
