Garden irrigation systems in Dubai
In Dubai a garden lives or dies by its irrigation. We plan the system with the landscape design, so every bed, tree and lawn gets the water it needs and the pipework is in before the paving goes down.

Why irrigation belongs in the design, not after it
Rainfall in Dubai is rare and summer heat is long, so almost everything planted in a villa garden depends on a watering system. The usual mistakes come from treating irrigation as an add-on: pipes run under paving that later has to be lifted, sprinklers wet walls and furniture, a palm and a flower bed share one line even though they need very different amounts of water, or there is no point to connect a tap and no space for the controller. At OutMazed® Design irrigation is part of landscaping scope and is drawn with the garden. The planting plan decides the zones, the zones decide the pipe routes, and the pipe routes are laid before hard surfaces close over them.
The main ways to water a villa garden
Most gardens use a mix. Which one goes where depends on what is planted.
Drip lines
Water delivered slowly at the base of plants through pipe with emitters. Suited to planting beds, hedges and planters, with little lost to evaporation or wind.
Bubblers for trees and palms
A deeper, concentrated supply around the root area of trees and palms, which need far more water than the bed around them.
Sprays and rotors for lawn
Natural grass needs even coverage across its whole area. Spray heads suit small and narrow lawns; rotors throw water further on larger ones.
Planter and pot lines
Small-bore lines run to raised planters, planter walls and pots, so they do not depend on hand watering.
Controller and zones
An automatic controller runs each zone on its own schedule, so lawn, beds and trees each get their own watering times.
What we decide when designing the system
- Planting firstThe system follows the planting plan. Thirsty lawn, shrubs and palms go on separate zones instead of sharing one.
- Sun and shadeA bed in full afternoon sun and a bed under a pergola need different watering, even with the same plants.
- Where pipes cross hard surfacesSleeves are laid under paths, driveways and paving before they are finished, so the system can be reached later without breaking anything.
- OversprayHeads are placed so water lands on the planting, not on walls, decking, furniture or the pool deck.
- Artificial grass areasWhere part of the garden is artificial grass, no lawn irrigation is needed there; the beds around it still are.
- Controller positionSomewhere sheltered, near power, and easy to reach for adjusting schedules as the seasons change.
Irrigation as part of a whole garden
One plan for planting, water, paving and light
Irrigation is the part of a garden you should not see. Getting it right means coordinating it with everything else: planting beds and trees, stepping stones and paving, lighting cables, pergola footings and, if there is one, the pool and its equipment.
Because we design the garden in 3D and build it with our own team, irrigation is laid in the right order: after levels and before paving, with sleeves left where pipes and cables cross paths. That is much harder to achieve when the garden is built by several separate trades.

How we deliver it
Project Study
On the free site visit we look at the garden, existing planting, the water supply point and any irrigation already in place.
Plan
Zones are set from the planting plan, and pipe routes are drawn around paving, structures and services. Any approvals the wider garden work needs are applied for by us.
Visualization
You see the finished garden in 3D, so the planting the system serves is agreed before anything is installed.
Execution
Our team installs the system in sequence with the rest of the garden, then tests each zone before planting and finishes.
A programme is given after the site visit; duration depends on the work.
What changes the cost of an irrigation system
The main drivers are the size of the garden and the number of separate zones; the mix of drip, bubbler and lawn coverage; how far the pipework has to run from the supply point; whether pipes must cross existing paving or driveways that would need lifting; the number of planters and pots to be connected; and whether the system is installed as part of a new garden or added to an existing one. A quotation follows the site visit.
