Two kinds of kitchen in one community
Dubai Silicon Oasis has a large stock of apartments alongside its villas, and their kitchens pose opposite problems. An apartment kitchen is often a galley or an open corner of the living room, where every cabinet has to work hard and the units are on show to guests. A villa kitchen has space but often a layout that no longer suits the family: a fridge too far from the hob, too little worktop by the sink, tall units in the wrong place. In both cases, cabinets made to measure solve problems that a standard range cannot.
Planning cabinets for DSO kitchens
Galley and open-plan apartments
Full-height units to the ceiling, slim pull-outs beside the cooker, and handle-less doors that sit quietly in an open living space.
Villa kitchens
An island or peninsula where the room allows, a larder unit, and space planned for large appliances.
Appliance housing
Integrated fridges, ovens and dishwashers, sized once you have chosen the appliances.
Corners and bulkheads
Corner solutions and units scribed around AC bulkheads and pipes, so there is no wasted gap.
Replace, or refresh?
What we learned on Project Design
On Project Design, an office fit-out in Dubai Silicon Oasis, the kitchen was given a custom wrapping instead of new cabinets. Wrapping covers sound doors and carcasses in a new surface, which can change the look of a kitchen with less disruption.
It is not always the right choice. Cabinets that are swollen from leaks, sagging or laid out badly are better replaced. At the site visit we open the units, check the carcasses and hinges, and tell you honestly which route suits your kitchen.

A free visit to measure the kitchen, note plumbing and power positions and check the existing units.

Layout, door style, finishes and appliances agreed; any approvals the work needs are applied for by us.
