Smart home automation in Abu Dhabi
We plan and install smart home systems in Abu Dhabi villas and apartments, usually as part of a renovation, so the cabling, controls and finishes are designed together.

Start with what you want the house to do
A smart home is not a list of gadgets. It is a small number of things the house does for you: lights that dim to a scene when you sit down to eat, AC that cools the bedrooms before you get home, blinds that close against the afternoon sun, cameras you can check from a trip abroad. In a large Abu Dhabi villa with many rooms, a majlis, a garden and often a separate guest area, the value is in controlling all of this from one place without walking the house. We start with how your family lives, then design the system and its cabling around it.
Systems we can bring together
Lighting
Scenes, dimming and schedules for rooms, the façade and the garden.
Climate
Room-by-room cooling on smart thermostats, so unused rooms are not cooled all through a long, hot summer.
Curtains and blinds
Motorised to open and close with the sun or on a schedule.
Security
Cameras, video door entry and alerts you can see on your phone.
Garden and pool
Landscape lighting, pool lights and pumps on timers or scenes.
Home cinema and audio
We supply and install the AV equipment for home cinemas.
Decisions to make early
Cabling, coverage and control
Most reliable systems depend on cable laid before ceilings and walls are closed: for keypads, lighting drivers, cameras, blinds and access points. That is why automation should be planned during the design of a renovation rather than added afterwards. Wireless products can fill gaps in a finished home, but large villas with thick block walls often need several access points for good coverage.
Decide early who will use the system and how: wall keypads that guests and staff understand, phone control for the family, and what should still work by hand if the internet goes down.

Approvals for smart home work in Abu Dhabi
Automation installed inside a home is usually electrical and low-voltage work. Whether it needs an approval depends on the rest of the project and on your building or community: apartment towers and managed communities often set rules on contractor access and working hours. If automation is part of a renovation that changes the interior, the wider permits apply. According to TAMM, the Department of Municipalities and Transport building permit service covers internal or external modifications without additions. We confirm what applies and apply for it ourselves.
Coverage across a large villa
A system is only as good as the network under it. In an Abu Dhabi villa with thick block walls, a guest wing, a majlis and a garden, coverage is planned room by room.
A cable to every fixed device
TV walls, the study, cameras, the intercom and each access point get a network cable back to one cabinet. Wireless is kept for phones and tablets, not for the devices that must always respond.
Access points by floor and wing
Block walls and floor slabs weaken a wireless signal, so each floor and each wing gets its own access point, placed in the ceiling design rather than left on a shelf.
The garden and the gate
The gate camera, the intercom and the garden lighting controls sit furthest from the router. They get a cable or an outdoor-rated access point, planned together with the garden lighting so one trench serves both.
One cool cabinet
The router, network switch, camera recorder and lighting controllers live in a ventilated cabinet in a cool place inside the house, not in a hot garage or roof store.
Power backup for the essentials
A small battery backup on the cabinet keeps the cameras, the intercom and the router working through a short power cut.
Working with what is already in the villa
In a renovation the system has to connect to equipment that is already installed.
- Air conditioningDucted and central systems are usually controlled by swapping the wall thermostat for a connected one, zone by zone. Which option fits depends on the indoor unit's controller, so we check the AC at the site visit. Our smart thermostats page covers the choices.
- Lighting circuitsExisting circuits are rewired to dimmable drivers or relays in the ceiling or the distribution board. Older fittings may need lamps that dim cleanly.
- Curtains and blindsMotorised tracks need a power point at one end and room in the pelmet or ceiling recess. Where that exists, existing tracks can often be replaced like for like.
- Gates, garage doors and the intercomMost gate and garage motors have a contact the system can trigger, so the gate opens from your phone and the intercom rings on it when you are away.
- Cameras and alarmsNetwork cameras can usually be kept and their recorder moved into the cabinet; older analogue cameras are checked at the site visit. Alarm panels and door contacts can trigger lights and alerts.
Planned from Dubai, installed in your Abu Dhabi home
What the site visit covers
Our office is in Dubai, and the project is run from there by one project manager. It starts with a free site visit to your home in Abu Dhabi. We look at the rooms you want to control, the type of AC and its controllers, the distribution board, where the internet enters the house, and how the family and any household staff use the house. Automation is then designed with the rest of the renovation, so keypads, access points and cabinet space appear in the 3D drawings alongside the ceilings and the electrical works.
Before the visit, it helps to have your internet provider's details, a photo of the distribution board and the AC thermostats, and a short list of what you want the house to do, in plain words. Our own team installs and programmes the system and hands it over with a walk-through.

From wiring plan to handover
Project Study
A free site visit to your Abu Dhabi home to understand the rooms, existing wiring and how you want to use the system.
Plan
We agree what is automated, the control points and the cabling routes, and confirm any approvals.
Visualization
Keypads, speakers, screens and lighting are placed in the 3D design so they sit well in each room.
Execution
Cabling goes in with the renovation, then equipment is installed, set up and handed over with a walk-through, under one project manager.
