Microcement in Dubai
We apply microcement to floors, walls, bathrooms and stairs in Dubai homes and offices, often over the existing tiles, for a seamless surface without grout lines, prepared and sealed as part of the renovation.

What microcement is
Microcement is a thin decorative coating made from cement, fine aggregates, polymers and pigments. It is trowelled on by hand in several thin coats, usually only a few millimetres thick in total, and then sealed. The result is a continuous surface with no grout lines, which can run from the floor up the walls and into a shower without a visible joint. Because it adds so little height, it is often used to renovate over existing tiles without breaking them out, which saves demolition, dust and the problem of raising floor levels at doors. Each surface is hand-finished, so there is natural variation in tone and texture; that is part of its character rather than a defect.
Where microcement is used
Floors
Living areas, corridors and kitchens, running from room to room without thresholds or joints.
Bathrooms and showers
Walls, floors and shower areas in one continuous surface, over a waterproofed base.
Walls and feature walls
A plaster-like texture on TV walls, entrance walls or a bed wall.
Stairs
Treads and risers coated so the staircase matches the floor.
Kitchen surfaces and furniture
Splashbacks, islands, vanities, display units and built-in benches, sealed for the use they will get.
Outdoor areas
Terraces and pool surroundings, using products and sealers intended for outdoor and wet use.
Where it suits and where it does not
Microcement is a good finish in the right place. It is worth being clear about its limits before choosing it.
- It depends on the baseIt follows what is underneath. Loose tiles, cracked screed or a substrate that moves will show through as cracks, so preparation and repair come first.
- It is not a waterproofing layer by itselfIn showers and wet areas it goes over proper waterproofing, not instead of it.
- It needs a sealerThe sealer protects against stains and water. Surfaces in heavy use, such as kitchen floors, are sealed accordingly and may need resealing over time.
- Slip resistance can be adjustedFiner or coarser finishes and sealers change the grip, which matters in showers and around pools.
- The look variesClouding and trowel marks are normal. If you want a perfectly uniform surface, a large-format tile may suit better.
Microcement in a renovation
Planning it with the rest of the work
Microcement is usually one of the last finishes applied, so the work before it decides the result. Electrical points, plumbing, door trims and skirting are planned so that the coating can run cleanly up to them, and any underfloor services or pipe changes are done before the base is prepared.
We show the finish in the 3D design together with the joinery, lighting and fittings, so the colour and texture are chosen in the context of the room rather than from a small sample alone. Where you are unsure, a microcement floor can be compared side by side with alternatives such as large tiles or epoxy.

How we apply microcement
Project Study
A free site visit to check the existing surface: whether tiles are sound, whether there are cracks or damp, and what is underneath.
Plan
Areas, colour, texture and sealer are agreed, and any approvals your building or community requires are applied for by us.
Visualization
The finish is shown in 3D in your room, with the rest of the renovation.
Execution
Our in-house team repairs and prepares the base, applies the coats and seals the surface, with a dedicated project manager as your single point of contact.
What changes the cost
- Area, and how many separate surfaces are coated
- Condition of the base and how much repair it needs
- Walls, showers and stairs, which take longer than open floors
- Wet areas, which need waterproofing first
- Finish and sealer chosen for the use of the space
