Water features and fountains in Dubai
Moving water brings sound, light and a sense of calm to a garden. We design fountains, cascades and pool water features as part of the whole outdoor space, then build them with our own team.

What a water feature adds to a villa garden
A water feature can be a single fountain at the end of a path, a cascade spilling into the pool, or a still basin that reflects a wall and its lighting. In a Dubai garden it does several jobs at once: the sound of water masks traffic and neighbours, the surface catches light at night, and it gives a focal point that draws people outside. A water feature is also a small piece of plumbing and electrics, with a pump, a water supply, power and lighting, so it has to be planned with the rest of the garden. At OutMazed® Design water features and fountains are part of our landscaping scope, designed in 3D and built in-house, including those that are part of a pool.
Types of water feature
Freestanding fountains
A fountain or statue with its own basin, placed as a focal point in planting, at the end of a path or by a seating area.
Cascades into the pool
Water spilling from a raised wall, ledge or spout into the pool, built as part of the pool structure.
Wall fountains
Water running down or out of a garden wall into a trough or basin, useful where ground space is tight.
Reflecting basins
Shallow, still water that mirrors walls, planting and light; often paired with stepping stones across it.
Bubblers and jets
Low jets rising from pebbles or a basin, giving movement and sound without a deep pool of water.
What to decide in the design
- Where you hear it fromA water feature is as much about sound as sight. Place it where it can be heard from seating and the house, not only seen.
- ScaleA feature too small disappears; too large dominates a small garden. 3D views help set the size.
- Sun and evaporationIn Dubai heat open water evaporates quickly and warms up. Shade and a top-up supply help.
- Splash and windSpray drifts in wind and can stain paving or soak furniture. Jet height and position matter.
- Pump, power and accessThe pump and controls need a place you can reach for servicing, and power that is safe near water.
- LightLighting in or beside the water makes the feature work after dark, when the garden is most used.
Water with the pool
The cascading water feature at Project Majestic
On Project Majestic in Al Twar the outdoor area was reworked around a pool with a cascading water feature, a sunken structure for gatherings and a gazebo for shade. A cascade like this is built into the pool structure, with its own pipework and pump, so it has to be part of the pool design from the start.
Combining pool and water feature in one design also keeps the equipment together, and lets the lighting for both be planned as one.

How we deliver it
Project Study
A free site visit to find the right spot, check water and power, and understand what the feature means to you.
Plan
Type, size, pump, supply, drainage and lighting are set within the garden plan. We apply for the approvals the work needs.
Visualization
You see the feature in 3D, in place, with the planting and paving around it.
Execution
Our team builds the basin or structure, runs the services and finishes the surroundings.
Duration depends on the work; a programme follows the site visit.
What changes the cost
The main drivers are the size and type of feature; whether it is freestanding or built into a wall or pool; the basin and its waterproofing; the pump and the length of pipe and cable runs; lighting in and around the water; a bespoke or sculptural element; and whether it is built with a new garden or pool or added to an existing one. A quotation follows the site visit.
