Room to choose the pool you want
Emaar Community Management describes The Meadows as two-storey detached villas with large outdoor garden and porch spaces, set among lakes and parks in Emirates Living. With that much garden, the pool does not have to be squeezed in. You can decide what it is for first: swimming lengths, cooling off with the children, sitting in the water in the evening, or looking at from the house. Some owners are building a first pool; others want an older pool reshaped, retiled or rebuilt. Either way, the pool is designed together with the deck, shade and garden around it. Pool options a large garden can take
Lap pool
Long and narrow along one side of the plot, for swimming lengths without taking the whole garden.
Family skimmer pool
A simple shape with a shallow end or wide steps, set where it can be watched from the porch.
Overflow pool
Water level with the deck, for a pool that reads as a calm surface from the house.
Pool with wet deck
A shallow ledge for sitting or lying in the water, useful with young children.
Jacuzzi or plunge pool
Added beside the main pool or on its own, under a pergola.
Pool house
Changing room, shower and storage near the water, where the garden has space.
Redoing an existing pool in The Meadows
Emaar Community Management's FAQ for Emirates Living answers this directly: if you plan to re-do your swimming pool, you need permission, applied for as an NOC through 'Home Modifications' on the community portal, and any alteration to the villa has to be approved by Emaar. We assess the existing shell, pipework and equipment on the site visit, propose whether to refurbish or rebuild, and apply for the NOC ourselves.
Placing the pool on a two-storey villa plot
Sun, shade, privacy and the view from upstairs
We look at where the sun falls through the day, so the pool and at least part of the deck get the light and shade you want. On a two-storey villa we also check what the pool looks like from the upstairs rooms, and what neighbours can see of it.
Equipment goes where it is out of sight and away from bedrooms, and the access route for excavation is planned before the design is final.

From site visit to a filled pool
Project Study
A free visit to measure the garden, inspect any existing pool and check access, levels and services.
Plan
Pool type, size, depth, finishes and equipment. We apply for the Emaar home modification NOC.
Visualization
Pool, deck and shade in 3D, by day and at night.
Execution
Excavation or strip-out, then structure, plumbing, finishes and the garden around it, all by our own team and coordinated by a single project manager.
Duration depends on the work. A programme is given after the site visit.
