Pool with a cascading water feature, deck and palms, Project Majestic, Al Twar

Swimming pool construction in Sobha Hartland

In a garden that is mostly planting, a pool should feel like part of the landscape rather than a block of paving with water in it. We design the pool, its edges and its planting together, then build it with our own team.

A POOL

A pool inside a planted garden

Sobha Realty describes Sobha Hartland as a green, waterfront community in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, with villas, townhouses and apartments and a 22-hectare green belt around it. For a pool in one of its villa or townhouse gardens, that setting suggests a softer approach: planting brought close to the water, a deck only as wide as it needs to be, natural-looking stone or a dark pool finish that reflects the trees, and water features that add sound. The practical questions are the same as anywhere: how the pool fits between the house and boundary, how the excavation is reached, where the equipment goes and what the community allows. The pools shown are from other Dubai communities.

OPTIONS FOR

Options for Sobha Hartland gardens

01

Skimmer pool with planted edges

Beds running up to the coping on one or two sides, so the pool reads as part of the garden.

02

Plunge pool or spa for townhouses

A compact pool or outdoor jacuzzi for smaller townhouse gardens, leaving room for planting and a seating area.

03

Fibreglass shell

A factory-made shell, where the plot has a route wide enough to deliver it.

04

Water features

A cascade, a spout or a statue fountain that brings the sound of water into the garden.

05

Renovating an existing pool

New finishes, coping, lighting and equipment if your villa already has a pool.

PLANTING AND

Planting and pools: what to plan for

  • Leaf dropTrees close to the water mean more cleaning. We choose and place trees so they shade the pool deck without shedding straight into it.
  • RootsLarge trees are kept far enough from the pool shell and pipework to avoid root damage.
  • Splash and run-offBeds next to the pool need drainage and plants that tolerate occasional pool water.
  • ShadeA pergola or tree canopy over part of the deck makes the pool usable in summer afternoons.
  • ApprovalsA new pool normally needs approval from the community's master developer or management. We apply for it ourselves.

One 3D model for water, planting and light

Because the pool and planting are so close in this kind of garden, we draw them as one design. The 3D model shows how the beds meet the coping, how the deck links to the house and where lighting sits, both underwater and in the planting around the pool.

Execution follows the approved model. Excavation, structure and plumbing come first, then the deck and edges, then the planting, so new beds are not damaged by pool works.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Can I have trees close to a pool in my Sobha Hartland garden?

Yes, with care in choosing species and placing them so roots stay clear of the pool and leaves do not fall straight into the water.

Is there room for a pool in a Sobha Hartland townhouse garden?

Often for a plunge pool or a spa. It depends on the distance from the house and boundaries and on access. We measure it on the site visit.

Who approves a pool in Sobha Hartland?

The community's master developer or management. We apply for the approval ourselves.

Have you built pools in Sobha Hartland?

Not yet. The pools shown are from Al Twar, The Villa and elsewhere in Dubai.

Do you build fibreglass pools as well as concrete?

Yes, both, and we also renovate existing pools.

How long does a pool take?

It depends on the work. We give you a programme after the site visit.
