Aluminium doors in Dubai
Aluminium is the frame material behind most large glazed doors in Dubai villas. It is strong enough for big panels with slim frames, and it does not rot or rust, but it needs the right profile and finish for local conditions.

Why aluminium is so widely used
Aluminium is light for its strength, so a frame can carry large, heavy glass panels while staying narrow. That is why it dominates for sliding, folding and floor-to-ceiling doors, where the aim is as much glass and as little frame as possible. It does not swell, warp or rot in humidity, and with a good factory finish it copes with sun and dust. Its weakness is heat: aluminium conducts heat easily, so a plain aluminium frame on a sunny wall gets hot and passes that heat inside. Better door systems deal with this with a thermal break, an insulating strip that separates the outer and inner parts of the frame. In an air-conditioned Dubai villa that detail is worth asking about.
Aluminium door types
Hinged entrance and garden doors
Single or double leaves, glazed or with solid panels, for side entrances, kitchens and garden access.
Sliding doors
The most common aluminium door in Dubai, from balcony sliders to large lift-and-slide sets.
Folding doors
Aluminium keeps folding panels slim and stiff enough to stay aligned across a wide opening.
Pivot doors
Framed glass or panelled pivoting leaves for entrances and courtyards. See pivot doors for entrance, glazed and hidden pivot types.
Internal aluminium-framed doors
Slim glass doors and partitions between kitchens, studies and living areas.
Choosing aluminium doors for a Dubai home
Finish, profile and glass
Finish matters most near the sea. Aluminium is usually powder-coated or anodised, and villas close to the coast face salty air that attacks poor finishes and fixings. The quality of the coating, how cut edges are treated and what screws and hardware are used decide how a frame looks after a few summers. Frame colour is also a heat question: dark frames look sharp against a light facade but get hotter in direct sun than pale ones. The garage door often sits on the same elevation; we also handle garage door supply and installation, so its colour and panel pattern can be judged alongside the frames.
The profile, meaning the shape and depth of the frame, sets how large a panel can be, how well it seals and whether it includes a thermal break. Glass is chosen separately for each opening, according to orientation, privacy and safety. We look at all three together, so a slim-framed slider on a west terrace does not end up as the hottest part of the room.

Aluminium compared with other materials
- Against uPVCAluminium allows slimmer frames and bigger panels; uPVC frames insulate well but are bulkier. See uPVC doors.
- Against WPCWPC is mostly used for solid internal doors in damp rooms, not large glazed openings. See WPC doors.
- Against timberTimber gives warmth and a crafted look but needs more care outdoors in Dubai's sun. See custom and wooden doors.
How we work
Project Study
A free site visit to measure openings and note orientation, exposure to sea air and how each door is used.
Plan
Door types, profiles, finishes and glass are agreed per opening, and we apply for any approvals the facade change needs.
Visualization
Your new doors are shown in 3D so frame colour and sightlines can be judged against the whole elevation.
Execution
Our team removes old frames, prepares the openings, installs, seals and adjusts the doors, and finishes the surrounding work.
What changes the cost
Door type and size, profile system and whether it is thermally broken, finish and colour, glass specification, locking and hardware, structural changes to openings, and making good around the frames. The quotation follows the site visit.
